Everything Recreation – Ski, Hike, Bike!
Cottonwood Heights is well loved for its close proximity to Big and Little Cottonwood Canyon offering the best hiking, biking, skiing, and cross-country sport. The further one travels south from city center and Sugarhouse the larger home footprints become. Established neighborhoods, such as Prospector, in the far east of the city boast an array of luxury homes with stunning valley and mountain views.
The mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon offers newer contemporary style townhomes and condos. Top of The World Community, located on the hillside, offers mid-sized existing single-family homes.
The Mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon offers tucked in neighborhoods of existing luxury homes on private wooded lots. At the base of Little Cottonwood Canyon lies a community of beautifully designed new construction homes with broad sweeping mountain views and smaller lot sizes, averaging .09 - .18 acres. This is an HOA community with pool and clubhouse. Lower Cottonwood Heights offers smaller homes built largely from the 1950’ – 1970’s. Drive time to downtown Salt Lake is 15 minutes.
Community & Lifestyle
Cottonwood Heights will well serve the outdoor enthusiast in you, but recreation is not all our canyons have to offer. During the summer months enjoy music by local bands and musicians on the outdoor patio of Albion Grill located in Little Cottonwood Canyon. This is a fun event paired with the Wildflower Festival in July. Oktoberfest is held August through October. This seasonal festival brings the community together for the best in German food and music. Little Cottonwood Canyon is home to Snowbird Ski Resort. Here, in the off-winter months visitors enjoy yoga classes and workshops, guided hikes and tours, and an array of fine dining options with awe-inspiring 360 mountain and valley views. Big Cottonwood Canyon is home to Silver Fork Lodge. This is a favorite spot after a morning hike to enjoy brunch on the patio amongst soaring pines and dancing hummingbirds. Old Mill Golf Course is located near the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon, boasting ethereal sunrises and sunsets.
At the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon, one can find several local restaurants beloved by all, including Porcupine Grill, Alpha Coffee, and Hog Wallow Pub – also a favorite spot for local blues, jazz, and rock musicians. Down the street, additional local favorites include Lone Star Taqueria, Even Steven’s, Pizza Limone, Bandits Bar and Grill, Spitz, Coffee and Coca, and the Cotton Bottom Pub – a historic pub offering the best garlic burger in the state. For fine dining, there are several options to choose from including Franck’s, Tuscany, and La Callie – where peacocks strut through the brightest spring color in the ornate landscaped garden for your viewing pleasure.
